Winchester, Remmington, or Federal 22LR for your 10/22?

I am stocking up and wanted to know what has been the most reliable round for those Ruger 10/22 shooters out there?

I am a big fan of CCI Mini-Mag solid and hp, as well as CCI Stinger.

CCI gives me the best accurate results and consistent performance in the 10/22.

Negative on the winchester. Took some to the range last time given they were the cheapest I could find. Out of 200 shells, had approx 20 misfeeds on a brand new 10/22.

This was with afermarket mags, but I have used eagle brand mags for years without those kinds of issues.

I have had very good results with Federal " American Eagle " 38gr. hollowpoints. consistently, in varied firearms. not the cheapest, but worth the slight premium for better accuracy and consistent ignition. 4000 rnds to a case instead of 5000

The Federal cheapo brick ammo is crap, don't know about Winchester but I have a several k of cheapo Remington and it works out fine.

+1 to all of the above. Winchester isn't as reliable and seems to be a bit dirtier than rem or federal. The all lead nose of the win bulk packs won't reliably chamber at all in my AR7 (henry survival rifle) or the MarkII or walther P22. 10/22 and the marlin 795 eats them fairly well however.

I only bought Remington 550 bulk packs up until this past month. It was more accurate than the win or federal BP's. Now the federal is 11.97 and the win and rem at 13.98. I bought a few boxes of the federal and I'm going to try them out, last time I was using federal it was good, but not quite as accurate and the price was within 25 cents of each other so I did remington. We shall see.

The Eagle 10/22 (and beretta 92f) mags would perfectly for me. Beware not all eagle products are good, a good example is the eagle 10/22 extended mag release, that thing sucks. The Volquartsen (sp?) is a buck or two more and 10x better.

www.cdnn-investments.com has them right now for 9 bucks, when they have a sale they are as low as 5 bucks if you buy 10. I missed the last sale, next sale they have like that I'm buying 20 of them.

I've been very happy with many thousands of rounds of both the Remington and Federal bulk pack ammo. I use them both interchangeably in the 10/22.

I may switch when I get the new barrel in, but if it's "accurate enough" at 50 yards I may just say to heck with and keep using it.

FWIW...I use Aguila Match Rifle in my CZ452.

You'd have to have two polls... one for bulk packs, one for others... It's hardly fair to put the bulk packs up against Stingers and mini mags..

I honestly don't know enough about the whizbang .22lr stuff to make such a poll either :bear_w00t:

All .22s are fussy with their ammo, and you'll have to run through a few brands before you find the one your rifle "likes" the best.
